Here’s to Living the Whole Thing

How to Live the Whole Thing

We have said that “Wellness is the new luxury lifestyle.”

It is also a multi-trillion dollar global market.

Wellness expenditures – which we will define as non-medical spending on physical, mental, and emotional health – are now equal to 50% of what we spend on healthcare globally. That’s astounding, but it makes sense if you stop to think about it:

We know more than we ever have about preventative medicine, about the enrichment of life through both work and play, and about the benefits of physical activity, healthy habits, self-esteem, and self-control.

The question for any consumer is, as always, “How should I spend my time and money in taking advantage of the opportunities available to me? “ And insofar as health and wellness is concerned: “What can I do now to maximize the enjoyment I get out of the days, weeks, months, and years to come?”

NAVIGATING the WELLNESS ECONOMY

There are so many new opportunities to look and feel your best - it’s almost a brave new world out there - but that just means that as a buyer you have to be even more wary.

When it comes to health and wellness there’s a long history of profiteering, bogus science, and deceptive claims. There are quacks and snake oil salesmen on every television and social media channel, and while we are BIG believers in the placebo effect, some of those next big things may have negative health consequences. Plus, you only have so much time and energy.

I am here - welcoming you to our blog and newsletter - in order to help you make the right, healthy choices for your life. We will be offering a weekly look into the products and practices, as well as the people and places, that can help you feel better and look your best.

Keep an eye on this space, or sign up for our newsletter, for a curated look at the very best in health, wellness, beauty, and design.
